The Columbia wetlands is one of the longest, intact, wetlands in North America. With over 250 species of bird, as well as moose, elk, wolves, grizzly bears, beavers and otters, to name but a few animals that also call this slice of paradise home. Our Wetlands Explorer adventure is the shorter of our trips and runs 3 times a day, and usually lasts for 2 to 3 hours. This leisurely trip is more about looking for wildlife than racking up the miles and is fun for all the family.
The trip begins at our meeting point by the airport where we will fit everyone with PFDs (life jackets) and paddles, before we load you into our passenger van and drive you 10km south of Golden to our put in, in Nicholson. Before we set off our guides will give you a full rundown on how to get in and out of your canoe safely, how to paddle and steer and what to do in the highly unlikely event you capsize. Then we're off!
